Today’s Top AircraftForSale.com Pick: Cessna TTx, the ‘Other Cirrus’?

This discontinued aircraft model can be a great value for shoppers seeking speed.

The Cessna TTx is the airplane that your nonpilot friends—and perhaps some of the pilots too—mistake for a Cirrus

While there are similarities, the differences have more to do with how the TTx’s story played out. The Cessna traces its genetics to the Lancair ES kitplane, which developed into the Columbia 300 before Cessna acquired the design in 2007 to compete with the hot-selling Cirrus. The TTx never really caught on, though, and Cessna ceased production in 2018.

Many pilots were disappointed by the TTx’s demise because it had certain appealing features and characteristics that, according to its fans, the Cirrus lacks. The TTx is also faster than comparable Cirrus models.

The news is better for aircraft shoppers in search of a speedy, high-tech composite design that is not necessarily built by that famous Duluth, Minnesota, manufacturer. On the used market, the TTx can be a good value as it tends to cost less than a Cirrus in part because of its “discontinued” status. It is still a well-developed, modern GA machine capable of rapid transit well beyond the 200-knot threshold.

The Cessna TTx is currently available on Aircraft For Sale. You can arrange financing of the airplane through FLYING Financial Group. For more information, email info@flyingfinancial.com.
